National Arts in Education Week

In case you didn't know, this week, Sept 9th-15th, is National Arts in Education week.  What a wonderful thing to celebrate!  Arts in Education is so important in bringing culture to our youth and giving them an alternative outlet for learning.  I feel a great sense of pride and responsibility being an art educator.  While doing outreach work for the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company, it was not uncommon to have a teacher approach me after a class, and tell me how they watched certain students break out of their shell, becoming fully engaged and active.  It is wonderful to continue working in Arts in Ed since moving to Philadelphia.  I am lucky enough to be a part of The Rock School's Outreach program, and I am excited to be returning to the Gesu school and Khepera Charter School in a couple of weeks!  If you are ever looking for a good cause to support, Arts in Ed is one of them!
